Personalization in Windows 7

In addition to other useful features, Windows 7 operating system has flexible appearance settings – it would seem a trifle, but it’s nice that any user can make the system “beautiful” and unlike others.

The first personalization of Windows 7 implies a change in theme. The theme in this operating system includes:
desktop background;
window color;
a set of system sounds;
screen saver.
Windows 7 personalization is notable for the fact that as a desktop background you can install not one drawing, but several; these pictures will change, as in a slideshow, at intervals of a few seconds, minutes or hours.

To change or customize a theme in Windows 7, you need to go to the Control Panel (Start – Control Panel), select the Appearance and Personalization section, and in it the Personalization section. And you can simply right-click on any empty place on the desktop and select the item Personalize. In the window that opens, you can choose any of the proposed topics. To install it, simply click on the theme once and close the window.

If the set of proposed schemes is not enough for you, you can download the theme from the official Microsoft website. To do this, click on this link, select the theme you like from the list, click on the Download link under the theme and in the opened window select the Open function.

But the personalization of Windows 7 is not limited to a simple choice of topic. You can change the main elements of the themes (for example, desktop background) according to your desire. At the bottom of the Personalization window you can see a list of theme elements. Click the link Desktop Background. A new window will open in which you can select:
an image or a folder with images that will serve as your desktop background;
the position of the image on the desktop;
the frequency of changing the image (if there are several desktop backgrounds).
As an image source, you can select from the drop-down list a folder with standard Windows desktop backgrounds, an image library, the most popular photos, or any folder on your computer (using the Browse button). Fans of minimalism can choose a solid color fill. If you want to prevent individual images from being used as a background, simply uncheck them. You can also use the Select All and Clear All buttons.

There are several possible positions of the image: Filling, Fit, Stretch, Tile and Center. They are selected from the drop down list below. Time to change the image is also selected from a list in the range from ten seconds to days. If you want the images to alternate in random order, check the corresponding checkbox. When you’ve finished customizing your wallpaper, click the Save Changes button.

Also, personalization of Windows 7 allows you to change the color of the borders of program windows, the taskbar and the Start menu. The color of the window can be chosen in the range from sky blue to chocolate; a total of 16 colors are offered. You can enable or disable the transparency of the window border, change the intensity, hue, saturation and brightness of the color (the last three parameters appear when you click on the phrase Show color settings). Do not forget to press the button Save changes.

Also, personalization of Windows 7 allows you to change the sound scheme of the theme and screen saver. You can choose a sound scheme from the list of suggestions (by the way, the system sounds in Windows 7 are quite melodic) or create one yourself, choosing each sound from the list.
